There are music festivals and then there is ‘Ziro’. If you’re looking to break the monotony of your daily routine and absorb some North Eastern culture and terrific music, head to Ziro this September.
The fourth edition of this cult event will be over four days and will feature top indie acts from across the globe as well as the best folk musicians from the North East.
An enthralling musical experience surrounded by beautiful mountains and lush-green fields is what you can expect at ZFM ‘15.

ZFM has tied up with Instamojo to collect payments online. We caught up with one of the organisers, Anup Kutty, and here’s what he had to say:
Instamojo: How has the indie music scene evolved since the first edition and in what way has Ziro impacted/been impacted by this?
Anup: The great part is that there are way more bands now. Programming the festival is a real joy. We always wanted to make Ziro Festival a big party for the performers as well. Artists who’d normally not hang out with each other for whatever reason leave Ziro as great friends and many end up collaborating on projects. Bands discover other bands and also learn the pleasures and pains of touring. Since only one stage is active at any time, the focus is always on the music and that in itself makes some impact on the “scene”.
Instamojo: What’s in store for the fourth edition?
Anup: Four days, more bands, more folk musicians, a larger camping area… The ‘day stage’ will be a work of art and will feature some very interesting acts! Some bands are launching their much-awaited albums at Ziro. The lineup is almost finalised and it looks absolutely explosive!
Instamojo: Why did you choose Instamojo.com as your payment solution? How has the experience been? Do you have any suggestions or feedback?
Anup: Instamojo has been good for us because everything is transparent, the guys are just a phone call away, the commission rates are low and payouts are immediate. Since the growth of the festival has been very organic, we try to personally check on our audience and their queries.
Thankfully, ticketing has been seamless this time. These things matter a lot for an indie event like ours. We are not a corporate set up with huge machinery. At the end of the day, we are only a bunch of very dedicated music geeks trying to pull off a fantastic festival!
