It’s called the “art of beer-ing” for a reason!
This art was developed more than 6,000 years ago, presumably. The first ever written evidence of beer was found in the ancient civilization of Sumeria. There was a goddess of beer and people wrote hymns for her:
Ninkasi, you are the one who pours out the filtered beer of the collector vat
It is [like] the onrush of Tigris and Euphrates.
Beer was apparently considered a gift from the Gods!
Since then, we have brewed umpteen number of varieties, experimenting with the wackiest flavors (Voodoo Doughnut Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ale and elephant-digested beer among others).
Let’s not even get into the nomenclature. Beer is now synonymous with urbanization.
A recent survey showed more Indians were switching to drinking beer and dropping the hard liquor habits. (So long Old Monk!)
While India is a great fan of bottled beer, craft beer holds a special place in every desi millennial’s heart.
We spoke to three kickass breweries in a rapid-fire round & dang, did we get a little boozy or what:
